There are some things that are best suited to a desktop app, such as full profile editing.  So for the prolific contributors out there, the desktop version will still get plenty of use.  For others, I think some will find they use it infrequently, or even as a server/backup only.

The price will be under $10, for a universal iPad/iPod/iPhone application.  It does support multiple databases, which can be either linked with a desktop database or completely standalone.  So, for those new to DVD Profiler, that's all they need to purchase.

Of course those with the desktop version will find some extra abilities, but I'll leave that for the official feature list release.

This sounds like a newer version of the desktop app too!

Does it then do a local copy of a database on a network so it can make local changes and then synchronise between them?

It sounds excellent.

Ken, will it use the full screen of the iPad or will it be like those universal apps that use the iPhone screen and you can double the screen?

It does not use screen doubling; it has a native iPad interface.  It also supports full retina display for iPhone 4/iPod touch gen 4.

Hi Ken,
Will there be a new version of the PC program, or is the functionality already built into the current version to interface with the iProducts?

Thanks a lot for the update, Ken! Price seems very affordable to me considering the editing possibilities. I have my wallet at the ready

I have many questions regarding functionality, but I'll hold off until the official feature list is published.

I'm holding off buying an iPad until the 2nd gen comes around, but the thought of DVDProfiler on it is making me think again! Having it on my iPhone will have to suffice until next March/April.

Buy the iPad and when the 2nd gen comes out, put yours up on eBay to fund the purchase of the 2nd gen.

I agree on this.

All I would hope/expect the App can do is adding watched events and moving items betwen collections (so I could move stuff from Ordered to owned tab).

There is clearly two many daysw left in october 2010
