| Posted: | | | | There is a contribution up for the Danish locality version of EAN 5708758670869. The contribution notes read Quote: Edited title to taxi 4 instead of t4xi, så it will come in the correct alfabetik order in the database instead of coming before the other 3 movies. While I do not agree with the reasoning in the note, I still looked around a bit, and doubt crept in... Now, on the front cover, it says When you play the movie, you get this on the screen: Incidently, I just noticed this: C:\>vol z: Disken i drev Z er T4XI Diskens serienummer er 4932-270A Now the fun starts: On the back cover in the "copyright-section" (or what you would call it), it does in fact say this: Note the beginning of line three, where it says "Taxi 4". Now, I seem to remember a (loooooong (as always)) discussion as to where to take the titles from. I also seem to remember that it ended up with agreement that it should be taken from the "copyright section," as this is the copyrighted title of the movie For now, I have voted Yes on the contribution for this reason, but as I said, I'm not sure whether this is the correct vote or not? | | | The future is here. | Posted: | | | | Long discussions aside, the rule is clear: "Use the title from the front cover."
There are no possessives in the title, so the copyright block is a non-issue. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There are no possessives in the title, so the copyright block is a non-issue. And that was the bit I forgot (and couldn't find in a search)! The discussion I was thinking of was about possessives, not the titles in general! Thank you, I will go change my vote pronto! | | | The future is here. It's just not widely distributed yet. | Posted: | | | | You could also explain to the user that they can use the "sort title" to place it after the other three in their list. |

You're right - I'll see if I can fit it in (sometimes we really need more space for entering vote-notes). | | | The future is here. It's just not widely distributed yet. (William Gibson) |

| Posted: | | | | This one had a big discussion on the Rules forum, if you have access, it's here. Still no resolution from The Boss. My personal opinion is that it should be entered as how someone would type it in to perform a search. |

Interesting. I am quite certain that there was a public argument about this very title. Has it been movied into the Rules forum? Because I can't find that topic anymore, not even with google. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

This topic is hereJust typed T4XI in the forum search. And just to show that is it not natural to do that... Another example that makes me regret a blind application of rules that cannot cope with all cases. | | | Images from movies | | | Last edited: by surfeur51 |

| Posted: | | | | Since there is no text title on the front cover (just a graphical logo), we have to use another source for the title. In this case the credit block fits quite well with the title in text form used by the film makers. |

I see nothing, in the rules, that would support throwing this out and using the credit block instead. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | I agree with Unicus69 and Berak. surfeur51: work by the rules and stop complaining about the rules! google search for T4xi | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. Please include the sources for your changes in the contribution notes, especially for cast and crew additions. |

As long as I do not contribute, I work as I want, and have certainly not to obey you . Anyway, that example is funny. It was very easy to find the old thread, searching on T4XI. But Dj Doena did not found it because he had not the idea to use T4XI. And what about an user trying to upload that profile by title ? How many chances that he types T4XI and finds the profile ??? | | | Images from movies | | | Last edited: by surfeur51 |
