| Posted: | | | | Anyone have this release from last week? What is the running time? I thought with the UA label on the side of this artwork it would have been handled by MGM or Warner Bros,,. But Amazon here says it is a Fox release.. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

I will look into this, I don't know how it got past me. UA is the property of MGM, BUT most of the MGM catalog, including James Bond is now being distributed 20CFHE. Warner retains distribution for some MGM titles, but most of the cataloig is now in the hands of Fox.

I have checked all my usual suspects including but not limited to Amazon, Best buy, DvdEmpire, DVDPacific and DVDPricesearch. No one is showing ANY version other than the 2003 release, no one even has this one listed at this time, so I don't know what the story is.
Judging from the cover art, it looks to me like it was part of that Anniversary of UA films that was released some months back. That 90 Years of Film was the logo they used for that set and it would certainly make sense to print a new cover to match the rest of the titles in the set. But beyond that I have nothing and no other hypoteses right now.

| Posted: | | | | Since the cover is bilingual, could it be a Canadian-only re-release?
I highly doubt it contains anything different from the 2003 release, or it would have come up in some thread on Home Theater Forum... | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

| Posted: | | | | It has come up in an HTF thread. It is a Canadian release and everybody is speculating about the running time. No definitive info yet. |

| Posted: | | | | It was found on an Amazon.ca ( Canadian ) web site .., It also lists it as 192 minutes ,, but then states that the movie is 161 with 31 minutes of deleted scenes,, but is the deleted scenes threaded into the running portion of the film such as the boxed Laser disc from '91 was., Or is it it on a separate featurette?? | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. | Posted: | | | | Chapters also list the running time as 161, then go on to mention 30 minutes of extras. Doesn't sound like it's integrated to me. |

| Posted: | | | | That's because that's what the original 70mm Roadshow version ran to, but as far as I'm aware all DVD releases have been of the 35mm theatrical release which only ran to 161 minutes. |

| Posted: | | | | I might be interested in this regardless. My version came from a budget bin and doesn't include any deleted scenes. |

| Posted: | | | | I saw that cover at FYE on the back it doesn't state any features and is the shorter running time so just a re-issue with new art work from what I can tell. I personally is still waiting for a full restoration that's been working on for years but MGM wont front the money to complete it all the radio calls have been found and only about 2 minutes of footage missing to complete 192 minutes . Luckily I still have the extended cut on Laser Disc |

| Posted: | | | | For any of you who might have missed this wonderful report , just two months ago, which was written by Richard W. Strange that I missed that. Still, if they had managed to put the roadshow version on DVD in Canada, there should have been a lot more buzz about it. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users.
