Just in case anyone missed it in the other thread:
AnyDVD (HD) 7.6.9.1

Quote:
7.6.9.1 2016 03 01

AnyDVD reborn! SlySoft is dead, long live RedFox!
This is an intermediate release, so old customers can continue to use their existing AnyDVD license to watch their discs.
This version can access the new RedFox Online Protection Database
This version will only work, if already own a valid AnyDVD license
For compatibility with 3rd party programs, AnyDVD will still use "SlySoft" for directories and registry paths
It will replace an existing SlySoft AnyDVD installation
New (Blu-ray): Support for new discs
    Some minor fixes and improvements

I hope previous Lifetime subscribers don't have to pay again...right now, I couldn't afford that.

If that happens, PM me. Will trade a license fee for some plugin testing if you are willing.

Hold on, I just looked at the site, and it was the same as I discovered a couple of days ago. I downloaded the new version and installed with no issues. Anyway, the offer is still open if that happens in the future.
Thanks for your support.

It's an elaborate conspiracy.

Too many lifetime licenses. Not enough money being made.

So... how do you get the users, to actually WANT to repurchase their licenses?

Well, Lifetime licenses do have their drawback from the vendor's perspective.

Doesn't look good ...

Quote:
SlySoft license keys for AnyDVD (HD) will only work up to version 7.6.9.1. The RedFox OPD (Online Protection Database) for this version will be available until Saturday, April 30, 2016, afterwards AnyDVD HD may no longer be able to decrypt discs.

SlySoft licenses of other products are not affected and will continue to work normally

If true, then I doubt I would purchase yet another lifetime license if it's going to cost $100+ again. It would really be a punishment to those who forked over lifetime purchases, and this new iteration could very well be risky and short lived also. "RedFox" could just as easily come to an abrupt end for any number of reasons.

I would perhaps pay a small "upgrade" fee to my lifetime license if it was discounted for those who previously purchased a SlySoft lifetime license. But $100+ again, nope.

Unfortunately, you had one very vocal member who thought RedFox should do away with the LTL altogether and a few others that wanted RedFox to charge again to stay financially viable.  However, the whole reason for the shutdown/name change had nothing to due with the financial viability of the company.

Some view it as a new name = a new company = fair game to require a new license.  However, the development structure (same people) is still in tact.  That would be like if Invelos had charged for new licenses when it went from Intervocative to Invelos.

A few were also pushing RedFox to only accept BitCoin which I hope isn't the only payment option.  It appears there is a link about BitCoin on their page so I hope the few vocal minority don't ruin it for everyone.

... especially for LTLs purchased recently, they'll have to offer a reasonable discount. I won't purchase another full priced Licence after buying one in 2015. And I think I'd not be alone...

Yes, I completely agree. I bought the lifetime license from SlySoft just a little over 2 years ago, and that's certainly far less than the "lifetime" I paid for.

I could see maybe contributing $20 again or something reasonable like that to continue it, but there's no way I'm spending $100+ again for a possibly sketchy future.
