My Thoughts:

This is my first time seeing this one. After watching them back to back I feel this one is a little better. Definitely has more gore. More up to date stories as well. I enjoyed Keith David in the roll of Simms. This film started out on a silly note but ended on something much more serious. Worth the time put in to watch it.

Dani and Christian are a young American couple with a relationship on the brink of falling apart. But after a family tragedy keeps them together, a grieving Dani invites herself to join Christian and his friends on a trip to a once-in-a-lifetime midsummer festival in a remote Swedish village. What begins as a carefree summer holiday in a land of eternal sunlight takes a sinister turn when the insular villagers invite their guests to partake in festivities that render the pastoral paradise increasingly unnerving and viscerally disturbing. From the visionary mind of Ari Aster comes a dread-soaked cinematic fairytale where a world of darkness unfolds in broad daylight.

My Thoughts:

This one caught me off guard. First thing I noticed is it was almost 2 and a half hours long. Not that it felt that long the film seemed to fly by. It is a slow moving film which usually I don't like but it works for this one. As for the characters the only one I really liked was Dani. Definitely a different kind of horror that keeps your intrest through-out. I must say this one surprised me. As I never really seen anything like it before.

My Thoughts:

I thought I seen this film many years ago but I was mistaken. I am so glad I watched this one today! It was no less then an amazing film. The story, the cast, the effects... there was nothing I could find to complain about. It even found something to give me, a person that has been a horror fanatic for 40+ year the creeps. That alone I found amazing! But when that head grew spider legs it gave this arachnaphobic the creeps. I found this film to be nothing less then fantastic. A must see!

What a house! It's all steel and glass and elegance – and it all belongs to Arthur Kriticos and his family as an unexpected inheritance. You could say it's their dream home. Especially if the dreams are nightmares.

Awesome ectoplasmic specters populate THIRTEEN GHOSTS, an effects-rampant remake of the 1960 William Castle haunted-house film from producers Gilbert Adler, Joel Silver and Robert Zemeckis, who conjured up the equally terrorific HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL (1999). Tony Shalhoub as Arthur leads a cast that includes Embeth Davidtz, Matthew Lillard, Shannon Elizabeth, Rah Digga and F. Murray Abraham. The house itself is a design marvel and a mysterious puzzle-cube whose eerie corridors, sliding walls, spinning floors and phantasmic fiends may allow no escape.

I really enjoy this one. I like the assortment of ghosts and it has it's share of gore as well. The "glass house" was amazing as well. This is a remake of the 60s film by the same name... though it is so much different from the original... which is another plus.

My Thoughts:

First time I watching this film. First thing I notice is lots of bright colors... lots of kills from the start and it isn't afraid to show the gore. Being an Italian film it has a different style then I am used to. But it has great atmosphere and imaginative kills. A must see for any horror fan.

My Thoughts:

When it comes to 70s horror it is really hit or miss for me. For the 70s I tend to like the blockbusters or the TV movies. This one has a real 70s feel. And wow sometimes I had to wonder if they were making a horror film or a softcore porn. Not that it is a bad thing I am not a prude when it comes to sex and nudity, There is some decent kills but it is not as gory as it thinks it is. It will show a little blood but then leave the rest to your imagination. A good film but I definitely seen better.

Pete, I am surprised, have you been living in a cave or the Antarctic? It is fantastic and creeped me out when I saw it on video when I was 13-14.

It is one of the all time greats, and the equal to the original. I recommend giving the prequel (2011) a go as well, not as good but worth your time.

Cheers
Kelvin

This is a film I haven't seen in years. But one I like a lot. I believe it is one of the first films I seen that mixed horror and action. Which is done well here. I also really liked the look of the monsters for the most part. They could have done Frankenstien better though. I liked the cast... they all did a good job. This is my first time seeing it on 4K UHD.... thought it looked and sounded great. I am glad I upgraded.

My Thoughts:

I have loved it since I first saw it when I was just a teen. I absolutely love the supped up wheel chair... The Silver Bullet! I really enjoyed the scene when he first got it... finding out just how fast it went. I believe Stephen King's take on the werewolf legend is just right on the spot. And I liked who the werewolf turned out to be. While it is not what I would call a gory movie... there is a scene or two that shows it's fair share of blood. There was nothing about this movie that was not just plain enjoyable. It is definitely one of my favorite werewolf movies. If by chance you never seen this film it is one I highly recommend!

My Thoughts:

While it is no Aliens this sci-fi horror definitely gives it a run for it's money. It is enough to satisfy this horror fanatic. It has a great cast that gave their all. As well as had some good effects. This film is a very good way to waste an hour and a half. I would defnitely recommend it.

My Thoughts:

This is another film I haven't seen in many years. While this film isn't much compared to the original I did enjoy this one. In my opinion it did a good job and making you like the characters you should and hate the rest. Some of the kills were really god. Especially the spear gun to the guy's crotch. Ouch! While it don't comare well to the first one I really don't see it deserving some of the hate I seen it get. I especially liked that they were abale to get one of the stars from Carrie to come back and reprise her role.

My Thoughts:

One one hand a decent film It did keep my attention ok. Plus it does have Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing which is always a good thing. But it was a very mild horror I would almost say it was more tragic, some romance and a touch of horror. But then this is the 60s we are talking about. I would say it is above average. Definitely worth the time put in to watch it. Just don't expect a scary horror movie from it.

My Thoughts:

This one is a decent movie... but not the best horror I ever seen. You can't take it too seriously. Unfortunately the horror icons only had single scene parts (besides Kane Hodder who played Victor Crowely). But it was cool to see Mercedes McNab (Harmony on Buffy) through-out the movie. She played a dumb blonde in this one as well. Over-all.... an enjoyable film but don't expect to much... this one is heavy on gore but light on scares. Worth the time it takes to watch it. But I would recommend making sure you get this one as cheap as possible.

Plot:
HATCHET II picks up right where the original Hatchet ends, as the quiet but resilient Marybeth (Danielle Harris, the Halloween franchise) barely escapes from the clutches of bayou maniac Victor Crowley (Kane Hodder, the Friday the 13th franchise), who has already slaughtered Marybeth's family and entire swamp boat full of New Orleans tourists. Upon learning her own family's ties to Victor Crowley from local Louisiana charlatan Reverend Zombie (Tony Todd, the Candyman franchise), Marybeth returns to the swamp with a team of hired guns to exact her revenge, but quickly discovers that not even an army of hunters can stand up to the fury and bloodlust of the legendary Victor Crowley.

The unrated HATCHET II serves up a ferocious and exceptionally gory dose of splatterific entertainment with groundbreaking practical make-up effects, a wildly twisted sense of humor, and an even darker and bloodier ride than the first film. Hold on to your pieces!

My Thoughts:

I actually enjoyed this one a little better then the first. I was pleased to see Tony Todd had a much bigger part in this one. There is still a nice bit of gore here.... and I felt the story was better then the first.Well worth the time put in to watch it.
