To me, it will always come down on the side of the artistic input, so the primary production company is WingNut, and the Country Of Origin is therefore New Zealand.
The money could have come from anywhere, and the film would still have looked the same. However, without WingNut, you would get a totally different interpretation of the film. |

| Posted: | | | | How about for Avalon? I received a no vote in making the COO Poland. I do realize that it was produced by a Japanese company shot entirely in Poland in the Polish language with a mixed Japanese/Polish crew and a Polish cast. By all rights, it should have 2 COOs Japanese and Polish.
I guess my question is, is it wrong to list the COO as one or the other until there becomes an option to use both? |

| Posted: | | | | I have to admit it's a very strange thing to add the profiles, and does seem to be very restrictive in it's current form. Is it possible for the entry to be changed so that as well as the default values, we can type in our own entries, a la the edition section, where we have a drop down list, but we also have the choice to type in our own? That way, if we look at the profiles mentioned, kovacs01 can type in Japan/Poland for the COO, and the LOTR profiles can have New Zealand/USA typed in. This would also solve the problem for countries that no longer exist.
What does everyone else think? |

MGM and (in this case) Columbia are only the Release-Companies - but not (!) the Production Companies. EON Production is a british Company (Pinewood Studios), and therefore... ....Bond is british. | | | Ääärrrrrmin!! |

Yes,more often than not, the word 'presents' means they did nothing but distribute the film...and maybe supplied some money. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. His production company WingNut Films is Kiwi. WingNut Films produced King Kong. Therefore CoO is New Zealand. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

Seriously though...YES. Peter Jackson is Kiwi. His production company WingNut Films is Kiwi. WingNut Films produced King Kong. Therefore CoO is New Zealand. But still no one has the balls to contribute NZ for the three LOTR movies |
