The Chappell Brothers, World Series 'Pyjama' Cricket, playing the Windies and Boxing Day Tests, Colour TV!....

Days on the beach as a child getting sunburnt, a constantly peeling nose during summer, freckle faced kids climbing trees.....

Playing at the local creek, catching tadpoles and skimming stones....

Riding bikes all over the neighbourhood, backyard cricket, playing Marco Polo in the pool...

These are a few of my favourite childhood memories.

Mad Max or The Road Warrior as it is known in the US is Australian, as is Cocodile Dundee.

Mad Max 2 was called The Road Warrior, I believe the reason being that the first one hadn't been released at the time and the "2" would have been confusing.

I agree with your statement that the 3rd one was not really good anymore. 1 + 2 however are great, great action films.

Add from my collection:
Against the Wind ('70s TV Series, the theme song is a classic).

Although when I think of Australian TV, I first think of Prisoner which ran for over 600 episodes or so... I remember watching it late at night during the mid-90s here in Sweden. It was something of a cult around it at the time. Hard to believe today...

Less than 100%: ABBA The Movie, filmed in Australia in 1977.

Don't forget 'Bodyline', 'The Dismissal' or The Emerald City. My favourite childhood (well Teens) moment: I was at the Melbourne Cricket Ground the day the Great Dennis Lillee broke the world wicket taking record, undescribable atmosphere.

That's not entirely accurate.

In North America Mad Max is known as Mad Max. It is Mad Max 2 that is known as The Road Warrior.

Prisoner Cell Block H

I hoped someone would mention that one.  I have always liked soap operas.

When I was a child in the 50s I had a pen pal from Australia.  When we first began writing he lived in Moonee Ponds.  His father was a Methodist minister, so the family "shifted" every 2 years or so.  I've been fascinated by Australia and things Australian ever since, though, sadly, I've never been there.

Without hunting through my collection, the only film I can think of that I haven't seen mentioned yet in this thread is "The Man Who Sued God".
