Another great one from the bestest

btw. It must be me, who else, but I can't seem to find the load filter button

Hate to tell you ... it's you.  (hope you don't mind a gentle joke ...)

When you select the Filters tab on the collection window, the Load Filter Set icon is the picture of the folder in the bottom right corner.

Have fun. Next upgrade will allow you to use your own icons.
Thanks for your support.

Of course I don't mind a joke

Just got myself a new computer, so everything needs to be installed again. One of the first things will be DVDpro and your plugins
Unfortunately, I can't use DVDprofiler at the moment due to lack of a Windows computer.

I had a hard time finding this too, but it's the box next to the clear all filters box at the bottom of the filters page.

V0.3 Available

Simply put: Create your own set(s) of icons that call up DVD Profiler Command Files. A Command File can run any number of Profiler commands and menus, including loading filters. Even plugin menus can be invoked. You can assign the icons to any toolbar.

Added features:
  • Edit dialog that allows you to manage sets of icons, edit, save and reload them for use. To get to this dialog, use Tools\View Plugins\MyTools\Options

  • There are two types of icons:

  • (1) Regular icons: associated with the bitmap image and command file of your choice. You can also choose which toolbar the icon appears on, and a tooltip.
    (2) FiipFlop icon pairs: associated with a pair of tags - the "flip" tag and the "flop" tag. Clicking these icons will switch between the two tag values (flip and flop) on all flagged profiles.

You can also associate a command file that will be run after the tag operation. An example of how you can use this would be to swich a set of profiles between being "ForSale" and "Sold". The command run at the end of the tag operation could then run a filter to show the resulting set of profiles for sale or sold. The Default icon set includes a sample FlipFlop Icon that you can play with.

There are 3 pre-defined pairs of flipicons. You can edit the icon image, command to run after the tag switch, tooltip, and the two tag values (flip value, eg. "ForSale" and flopvalue, eg. "Sold".

To install the sample commands and filters, use the following procedure:

    (1) Copy the contents of the \Plugins\MyTools\Filters folder into the location that is opened up when you click the "Load Filter" icon in DVD Profiler.
    (2) Copy the contents of the \Plugins\MyTools\Command Files folder into the location that is opened up when you click File\Run Command File on the main menu in DVD Profiler.

(Note that we are no longer able to edit the lead post, so unfortunately I can't change the obsolete instructions there.)

    Excellent Plug-in!
I only use the preconfigured Blu-ray and DVD Filter, and 2 self-made-scripts to switch between my 'normal' layout and ShowRoom with a filter on unwatched, because that's my favorite method to look for something to watch.

    thanks, Mithi

Oh thank you. Perhaps you would share your command file scripts? I think many people aren't aware of how useful and powerful a facility it is. (Actually I would be interested in the layout switcher myself ...  ) Edit: I see you did it. Thanks!

By the way, I'm fully expecting to get some kind of tabs or BD/DVD switching from Ken, maybe soon. But the other scrpits I guess will still be useful.

Sure, they were easy enough, once I knew to look under "Advanced Topics" in the Profiler Helpfile.

    LoadLayout Showroom.dpl
    CollectionView Thumbnails
    LoadFilterSet ungesehen.flt

first line loads the layout-file, second switches to the thumbnail view, and third loads a simple filter-set for "Watch status: not watched by anyone"

    LoadLayout "Mithi Default.dpl"
    CollectionView List
    ClearAllFilters
    SelectProfile I92FC6533CEA21AAB

first 3 lines switch everything back to my normal view, fourth line is to highlight the very first profile in my collection. Otherwise the first unseen profile would stay selected, a bit obsessive, I know

I bashed together Icons for those two:

Argh!  The icons revert back to the MyTools toolbar when Profiler is closed/re-opened.

I have this problem too, I tried to set up the My Tools the way I wanted then save Layout but that didnt work.

That is the reason I gave you a way to specify the Toolbar, and to save and load icon sets. When my plugin is not loaded, DVD Profiler doesn't know about the icons it defined, because the icons are actually tied to the plugin menu items. On the other hand, my Plugin can't know when you have moved an icon from the MyTools Toolbar. If you are keeping the plugin loaded, just edit the icon and either select from the drop-down, or type in the name of the toolbar you want it to be on. If it is a custom toolbar, that will be saved in your layout, and your MyTools icons will appear there, if that is what you specified.

If this doesn't work, let me know.

Ultimate solution is for Ken to extend customizing toolbars to include custom icons associated with command files. If he hasn't already done it, maybe our experiments here will give him some ideas.

What is the Run Command for?

Mike, this is the third question you have asked that is either covered in the first two parapgraphs of my description or in the DVD Profiler Help. Why not try a bit of study and reflection before blasting out a new post?

Got it again Sorry the "Run Command" was a last minute deletion you must have gotten to first, So I assume Blu-Ray/Dvd combo doesn't work because its not defined properly in Dvd Profiler. Because I added a Hd/Dvd combo and got that to work fine.

Ok, we're in sync, and now you know why I didn't give you a ready-made BD-DVD icon. But it is just as well, because I gave you a HD-DVD Combo button, but I guess you missed it. Anyway, it was useful to play with creating your own.
