Sorry to ressurect this thread but I am in need of help again if at all possible.

I have been using mymovies now and realise that the grass is not always greener.

If someone could point me in the direction of how to convert the mymovies xml file (again) , it would be appreciated.

I do not want to waste anyones valuable time and would appreciate any help at all 

For the record, the grass is greener on the DVD Profiler side.  As a tool purely to catalog your collection there is no contest.  In a never ending multitude of ways there is no contest.  My Movies can't hold a candle to DVD Profiler, both the PC based application and mobile apps.  The only thing My Movies has going for it is the ability to initiate playback of your collection as well.  I have my Blu-ray collection cataloged in DVD Profiler as well as My Movies.  I browse and initiate playback of my Blu-ray discs using My Movies for WMC7.  That's all I use My Movies for.  The true home of my Blu-ray collection is within DVD Profiler, the PC based application and mobile apps.  That being said, I manually added titles to DVD Profiler, so I can't speak to what you're trying to do here.  Good luck.

I just point to a profile and say Initiate playback. And then my wife gets up and loads the disc.

So I finally got around to do some XSL-work, but as I said before:
"And I hope there is a special place in Hell reserved for whoever came up with the idea to store dates in this horrid format: '2/24/2013 8:12:32 PM' "
For some reason I couldn't get the search&replace do my biddings, so I bit the bullet and wrote some lines of XSLT that can transform such atrocities into proper ISO-dated.

Your description of the problem does not seem to have anything to do with the profiles. I applaud Mithi's efforts to help you. Why not return the favor and give some more details of the error, and / or some screen shots so that he can understand the issue? Otherwise, it would be a poor reward for all his efforts.

I'm confused, was the XML imported with BulkEdit? We (yes I mean "we" because I got a lot of help from the DVD Profiler community) spent a lot of time on its locality guessing. I plan to improve it based on some new ideas, but I remember that we used to get 70 - 90%. But in any case, yes I agree it should be fairly simple task to do a bulk change of locality using BulkEdit.

Yes it was. I assigned localities in the converting from MyMovies to Profiler based on place of purchase to get full <ID>'s

Yes, if you assign localities, then BulkEdit will respect them and it defeats the locality guessing algorithms. So, assign them only when you know they are correct. Maybe you forgot, but you were one of the major contributors to a detailed discussion on locality guessing, that I then coded into BulkEdit. We used to get 70% or more during that project. Maybe give it a try?

Just as a reminder, BulkEdit locality guessing looks at the GS1 assignment for the specific UPC, and also uses the rating (if available), as a predictor of locality. There are some ratings that exist for only one locality! In any case, the rating usually helps to reduce the possibilities. There is also code that tries to take release date and other metadata into account, when available, to break the tie when multiple localities are guessed.

One of the future changes I want to put in is a default locality option. Today, the default is locality 0 ( US), but I would like to let the user decide.
