#3 (something else)

I leave the field blank. My interest in keeping track of how much I paid for a DVD is exactly the same as my interest in keeping track of how much I paid for shoes, socks, beer, jeans, gas....= nil.

I always record the costs of everything in my Shoes & Beer Database, including the price of the washing powder and electricity, but excluding washing machine depreciation, water and washing up liquid.  Everyone does, don't they?

Do you ever find yourself striving for perfection with an almost worthless attempt at it?  Guttermouth "Lemon Water".  Also, I include in my Profiler database VHS tapes, audio DVDs, audio books (digital, cassette and CD), video games (digital, DVD and CD) and 'enhanced' CDs with video tracks on them, as well as films and TV I've bought digitally.  So I'm an anarchist, deal with it.  Just be thankful I don't include most of my records and CDs etc in it too; don't think I haven't been tempted...

And what do you do if you have a gift voucher?

Everything's so complicated these days...

If I use a gift voucher (one I didn't pay for myself) I count it's value in the cost.

Yes, yes, Of course, all that, and more.
DVD retail cost? Shipping? Taxes? hmmmm? What about color of DVD case? Name of store where DVD bought? Day of week DVD bought? Tracking minds need to keep track....track it all, by all means.

Some people have to live within a budget, and knowing how much you actually spend on various types of goods/services helps to make ends meet.

I have actually, seriously though of recording the case colours.  But then I'd have the same issue that we have with aspect ratios; do I record the exact colour somehow, or lump them all into general colours, like red, green, blue, etc.  Then I'd want a translucent tick box too. it just goes on and on....

Yes!    So what's Top of the Colours then?  (Other than black, 'sort of see through white', or blue Blu-ray?)

Not aware of any such issue.. personally, I have no problem in entering the exact ar of any given film

Indeed.
Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on your politics) none of that applies to me

I usually put in the notes box ( just below the srp area)  either inc ship  .. or N/C  ship (with the ship price noted there)  .. but my biggest problem  is where I can default all my costs to CDN  and sure enough  weeks or months later I notice it has once again popped back to USD ...

exactly ... but like I said it seem to default by itself back to usd.. either when cookies cache is deleted or expired the program seems to at that point (with no cookies)  or if program is reinstalled revert back to usd ..

Well I am going to have a more detailed statistic in the future, which I'm already profiling with Beta 3.9.

For example today's arrival:

Or a recent arrival where I didn't need to pay anything due to a gift certificate:

I'm a statistics fan. But I've also seen quite a few number of people who measure their purchase price against the SRP to see how much they've saved.
