| Posted: | | | | I'm going through some of my Hong Kong films correcting things when I can find them at the moment, and so far 'Yuen Woo Ping' does seem to be how he is most commonly credited. Even on the eary Hong Kong films he's credited as Yuen Woo Ping! |

Based on Giga's post. It looks to me like you are simply making assumptions. Let's take one example from that list.
"Richard Salno" is credited in the following 5 titles (17 profiles): "Richard Salano" is credited in the following 5 titles (11 profiles):
My qiestions would be
1) Is one of those names merely a user generated typo which needs to fixed? Such things do happen? 2) IF the above is not true, then How do you know Salno and Salano are the same person, or are you merely making an assumption. There is more to this than meets the eye and if you simpply make assumptions based on the CLT then you are settingthe stage for big-time mistakes.
Skip 1 yep, must be corrected. 2 cast or crewmember is doing the same job in the same time, and mostly credited in both version as the same role. , or check it on other sites like wikipedia etc But you dont want any improvements in the DB, not everything can be proofed, but many things are obviously there | | | Last edited: by nimrod85 |

| Posted: | | | | Your attitude and insulting remarks do not warrant an answer, Nimrod. Would you care to change it. But relative to Salno/Salano, where did that information of yours come from. You see I deal only with data not imagination, and Giga provide NO INFORMATION which changes my question in any way. You bring in a bunch of garbage and don't even bother to explain what in the hell you are talking about or where it came from. It just magically appeared because you typed it. No, its in the DB For example: the existing data is from IMDB, and to check the name with the CLT shows that the other name is credited in same Movies too, but I think you want to keep the IMDB data. btw : Im only having 34 posts now, the rest is from the Profile contr. can I delete this postcount, I dont want that somebody think that I wrote more than 100 Posts here | | | Last edited: by nimrod85 |

That way, people who have some of the other titles can check them and not duplicate work. Hopefully if we get enough credits checked, we can find a proper "common name". |

Gerry Weinstock as Dr. Jack is the credit for dvdprofiler for Delta Force profile. But Jerry has moar To determine whether to enter the name directly as credited, or to use the "Credited As" field, use the Credit Lookup tool. @topic: Yuen Woo Ping ist just a drop in the bucket, there are many more cast and crew members with the same problem | | | Last edited: by nimrod85 |

| Posted: | | | | It looks to me like this could well be a case of users entering bad data. Or perhaps, assuming that Jerry Weinstock and Gerry Weinstock are the same person. The data pretty clearly seems to indicate that at least in one filmed instance the correct data is GERRY.

Yes, 'Jerry' does have more but, some of the titles overlap. While it can happen, the odds of him being credited as 'Jerry' AND 'Gerri', for the same film, are pretty slim. Those credits need to be verified before the common name can be determined. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
