...and some of the Spam dating back to 10/17 still needs to be cleared.

And more still showing up.

I erred. I should have said Spam dating back to at least 9/27

Again, I have offered my time just to moderate this section and remove these spam threads... I'm sure others would be willing as well.

Of course. It's not hours of works, just a few minutes a week. And like a lot of other people I'm almost everyday once or twice here on the boards.

Yeah, it shouldn't be too difficult for one volunteer to remove the obvious Spammer posts in this section, but I suppose they would also need to be banned...at least going by what Ken stated here in the past.

Ok, I'm going to step in it up to my knees, but here goes:

Spammers don't bother me. Invelos has channeled them into this one place. I can choose to ignore them. It isn't costing me anything, so if Invelos can tolerate the cost, then so be it.

What DOES bother me, is the long-time loyal members of the community that pollute the legitimate threads with endless and mindless carping over trivia, nasty political dicussions, personal attacks and the like. It is tremendously annoying, disrespectful and a waste of Invelos resources. IMHO, that is the true spam that I dearly wish we could mitigate.

To our credit, most of us respond to a genuine plea from respected members. Witness the recent plea by Kathy that was heeded by the participants. That was great, but I wish there was less of it to start with.

I think Invelos is very tolerant in general. We have joke threads, Cats and Dogs, shameless hawking of plugins ( ) and various other things that other Forums don't allow.

I think we need to be mindful of the fact that the tolerance of Invelos to a bit of what we call Spam, is part of an overall set of policies that mostly benefit us. So let's be careful of what we ask for ... Spam is in the eyes of the beholder.

Ok, that's my 2 cents.

Good thing as the complete forum would be flooded with them... God the "moderator" isn't able to remove them from one thread, how in hell he would be able do it everywhere. With the lot of works done on this forum the "moderator" doesn't have a free second to do anything

Usually spam are deleted from other forum for a good reason, deleting the link but I guess film piracy isn't a big deal if Invelos can tolerate to promote it in one section of its forum.

More than 3 months to do it, not something I would call listening too well... But of course not everybody have the same expectations.

I disagree. I see this section of the forum for what it was intended, and that's to help new users who are looking at the software, possibly with a view to buy. Invelos haven't channeled them into one place as such, more that spammers aren't going to buy the software to post in the other parts of the forum. If a new user wants to raise a question and is lost in a sea of spam, that's a potential buyer lost IMO and that is a shame.

I agree with the rest of your posts, and I have certainly been one of those members in the middle of it all, but tbh, it has been out of frustration, not hatred and I still make submissions every day, try to help with common names when I can etc etc.

Exactly.

Right now it's somehow like a kind of a store-owner who doesn't lift a finger when some stupids have smeared paint on their window-front.

Glad I found this thread as I was just going to report some more spam on here but there seems little pint if they are not going to be removed.

The easiest way around this is to put all new users posts into moderation so a moderator would have to let them through or delete and ban then first so they didn't appear live on the site.

I'm sure there are plenty of people on here who could help out with this if needs be.

Red arrows for such spam posts don't seem to do much good any longer.

There are easy methods to curb the Spammers on here, which have worked almost 100% effectively on other forums. It's up to the powers that be whether to implement them or not...
