I went straight for the paid version of 2.4 (I think) when it came out and transitioned over to the Premium version of 3.03 without a hitch. I can't imagine how it could be "significantly" improved upon as a program for it's intended purpose. Unless, of course, it could also catalogue music CD's. |

There are SO many cavemans who now rather dislike you. |

| Posted: | | | | I seldom post in a forum, but Ihave to say this: I´m a so called "premium" member since Feb. 2003 and I have never had to complain once about this program. Quite contrary I think it was one of the best buys I ever did. So thank You Ken

So the less information you had locked, the less you could upload.) Otherwise the free was fully functional.
With 3.x the free version pretty much breaks down if you have more than 50 titles. But that ist totally OK in my opinion, you can extensively test with 50 titles and if you like the product, cough the few bucks up. Well then IMHO the thread starter is not a troll. He's upset because he used something for free, then when he upgraded it, he lost functionality without understanding he would lose said functionality. I can understand why he's upset. I think it would be more helpful to Invelos to refrain from accusing people of being "trolls" and piling on a potential new paying customer when they are simply upset. This guy found an alternative, and he's now going to recommend to others to use the alternative over DVD Profiler. Worst kind of advertising there is, in my humble opinion. In the end however I am a believer that if you use something for free, you are not owed anything by anyone. | | | 99.9% of all cat plans consist only of "Step 1." |

| Posted: | | | | Invelos has called nobody a troll. Some users have and they are entitled to their opinion. Others of us have poked some fun at the poster, which is also within our ability. I can understand the user feeling, his attitude is a completely different issue and it is that attitude that has drawn the fire.

| Posted: | | | | I was using the free version of 2.4 and older for about 6+ years now. I always wanted to buy the full version mainly due to the High Res covers. This new upgrade made me work harder to get the program registered since I could only import the 1st 50 dvd's of my 2500+ collection. I didn't want to have to start over so I bought the full version a.s.a.p. It was well worth it and all I can say is I only wish I would have done it sooner. Thanks for the great product. Anyone who complains about the 30 bucks to register for the full version isn't worth the time anyways. I would have paid more! Zee |

He's upset because he used something for free, then when he upgraded it, he lost functionality without understanding he would lose said functionality. I can understand why he's upset. That's a fair point. I know because I had to rebuild my laptop while the site was down and couldn't retrieve my key. The free version SUCKS. I've used it and it was horrid. That's in comparison to the full version of course which I had already gotten very used to. Of course I went home that night and was able to get my key from my home computer, so I didn't have to suffer long, but that's not the point. So I wouldn't call him a troll. But what really got me going was the implication that he was ready to spend $30, but decided not to because of the new free version. That was a very bad bluff. If he was ready to part with his money, why did he stop? He said the free version sucks, but if he was going to pay the $30, he wouldn't have even been using that version to begin with. His exact quote is: "So much for DVD Profiler, my $29.99 will go elsewhere." He says that like he was ready to hand it over. But that's an outright lie. I don't believe he had any intention of ever paying the $29.99 or he simply would have. It was an empty threat and a bad one at that. So, I don't believe Ken lost any income here. And he sounds like a jerk anyway. So good riddance I say. We're better off without him. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here.
