For the top three choices in actors, directors, etc, are you asking a statistical question from our collection, or our preference or ranking?  It seems many answers are split.

edit: @xradman: I believe the statistical approach was the one OP was after, and I think at least most of the posters replied accordingly(?)

I'm excluding television from all below:

1. What's your oldest movie and which year was it produced?
Das Kabinett der Doktor Caligari (1919)

2. What are your three most common production years?
1. 2006
2. 2007

22

1. Drama
2. Comedy
3. Suspense/Thriller

5. What are your top three studios?
1. Warner Bros. Pictures
2. Universal Pictures
3. Columbia Pictures

6. What are your most common ratings?
By age restriction way as they go here in Finland:
1. 15
2. None
3. 11

7. Who are your top three actors?
Disqualifying Alfred Hitchcock's cameos (39) and television, I have:
1. Ingrid Bergman (31)
2. Marilyn Monroe (27)
3. Bess Flowers (26) (Queen of extras...)

8. Who are your top three directors?
1. Alfred Hitchcock (44)
2. Martin Scorsese (22)
3. Billy Wilder (14)

9. Who are your top three screenwriters?
1. Aki Kaurismäki (16)
2. Ben Hecht (15)
T3. Billy Wilder and Woody Allen (14)

10. Who are your top three producers?

2. Scott Rudin (19)
3. Bob Weinstein (18)

11. Who are your top three composers?
1. Alfred Newman (18)
2. Franz Waxman (17)
3. John Williams (14)

12. What is, in your estimation, your most obscure movie?
It would be easy to list many Finnish movies here that nobody has heard of, or many even here, but perhaps...
- Stimulantia (by Ingmar Bergman, released in The Netherlands in "Ingmar Bergman Collectie"-series), or perhaps...
- Die Vier Gesellen (Ingrid Bergman's odd 1938 leading role in a German speaking movie, one year before her Hollywood debut. German released DVD, obviously)

I don't know about broken but I do get different results for CoO between this & Database Query

Ignoring the "Missing" line in Query, there's quite some variance between the USA figures and then UK & France are a few adrift as well.
