| Posted: | | | | @ Skip: As I already pointed out, there's no need to convince me - I've relented years ago and I'm handling this the way you want me to. I also understand why we do this: it's the easiest way, we just enter what we see on-screen. But again: you're worried about having "TWO different definitions for Written by", while what we're doing is the exact same thing. Currently, we're handing out "writer" credits to both actual writers AND to people that are actually screenwriters, and we're also handing out "screenwriter" credits to both actual screenwriters AND to people who are really "writers". We're using the same label for different jobs. Again, I understand why: anything else requires us to think, or even worse, may require some research... To eliminate the need for that, we've decided to just be true to the on-screen credit, and nothing more. I understand that, and I'm fine with it, but you do need to understand that it's not exactly a perfect picture. Accuracy is in the eye of the beholder: do we credit someone with the job he actually did, or do we credit him with how that's referred to on the screen? We chose for the latter, which is fine as long as everyone agrees (to achieve that, the notes in the credits table really need to be addressed), but perfect it ain't: it means we're using the same credits in DVD Profiler to cover multiple jobs, diminishing the value of the credit. |

| Posted: | | | | @Tim, it also doesn't help when the "credited as" and the "notes" columns contradict each other. @Kathy, not keen on fruit cake, any sponge cake recipes? |

You have my permission to reamain just as confused and make things just as difficult as you wish, gunnar. I am fed up and tired with your total unwillingness to ever accept anything without turning into some form of fight.
Skip Geez!!! I have said over and over that I do accept the majority interpretation! Why do you keep harping on and on about this? | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

| Posted: | | | | Quoting northbloke: Quote: @Kathy, not keen on fruit cake, any sponge cake recipes? I like chocolate. Double Chocolate Gooey Butter Cake Ingredients: Butter, for greasing pan, plus 16 tablespoons (2 sticks) butter, melted 1 (18.25 ounce) package chocolate cake mix 1 egg, plus 2 eggs 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened 3 to 4 tablespoon cocoa powder 1 (16-ounce) box powdered sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 cup chopped nuts Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a 13 by 9-inch baking pan. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, 1 egg, and 8 tablespoons (1 stick) melted butter, and stir until well blended. Pat mixture into prepared pan and set aside. In a stand mixer, or with a hand mixer, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add the remaining 2 eggs, and the cocoa powder. Lower the speed of the mixer, and add the powdered sugar. Continue beating until ingredients are well mixed. Slowly add the remaining 8 tablespoons (1 stick) of melted butter, and the vanilla, continuing to beat the mixture until smooth. Stir in nuts with a rubber spatula. Spread filling over cake mixture in pan. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes. Be careful not to overcook the cake; the center should still be a little gooey when finished baking. Let cake partially cool on a wire rack before cutting into pieces. Prep Time: 20 minutes Cook Time: 40-50 minutes Difficulty: Easy Yield: 20-24 servings Recipe courtesy Paula Deen Show: Paula's Party Episode: Everything's Better With Butter | | | ...James

| Posted: | | | | While there have been extensive discussions, the Rules should be free-standing; they shouldn't require examination of thousands of discussion threads (which usually come to no agreement anyway). This contradiction between the rules has been pointed out to Ken for years. I wish he'd deal with it, since there does seem to be a rare consensus that "Written by" gets a DVDP "Written by" regardless of whether the screenplay is adapted or original.

| Posted: | | | | That point i won't disagree with, gard. And I have said many times that if it were me I would have modified it long ago. Even at that however, as I noted, were we entering As Credited there would be NO question and there should not be just because some users want to be confused. Written by is Written by is Written by regardless of ANYTHING. If one wishes to, no matter how clear the rule might be, any given user can choose to parse a Rule to the point of absolute mud. I hqave watched users do this numerous times, it depresses me because the hope was that this kind of ummmmm would be diminished compared to the mess we had with the guidelines. In some ways we have been successful and our data is much improved, in others...I just don't know. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here
