| Posted: | | | | Is there a way to view profiles that have pending updates somehow? It's incredibly frustrating when days/weeks after a product I have bought has no profile online that I finally go through the process myself: scanning covers, editing them, reading and filling out all the details from the discs, etc. I spend 15-20 minutes on this stuff only to go online and contribute the profile to turn out that there is something out there already waiting. I have found no way to check ahead of time to see if a profile is pending and even when I go to the contribution search page, there is no way to find that these profiles are pending an update. |

| Posted: | | | | After the first couple of times this happened to me I now create a completely blank profile, add a cover and picture format, then submit.
If there's a pending one I delete it. If there isn't, I cancel the submission and then actually edit it properly before submitting it.
It's mildly irksome, but far less so than doing a lot of work and then learning it's pointless. |

| Posted: | | | | I'll do a variation of what AlunH does for and just put in the basic details (year, title and maybe release date) and add it to my collection. Then, before I do ANYTHING else, I will right-click on the "View Contributors" tab and click on "View Contribution Notes" to see if an initial contribution has already been done. | | | My one wish for the DVD Profiler online database: Ban or remove the disc-level profiles of TV season sets. It completely screws up/inflates the CLT. FACT: Imdb is WRONG 70% of the time! Misspelled cast, incomplete cast, wrong cast/crew roles. So for those who want DVD Profiler to be "as perfect as Imdb", good luck with that. Stop adding UNIT crew! They're invalid credits. Stop it! | | | Last edited: by huskersports |

I'm pretty sure that only works if a new profile has alrady been accepted and released, but not if it's still pending approval. |

For instance, I created a new profile of the Tommy Boy BD child profile that was part of the 4K/BD steelbook. Before I contributed it, I right-clicked on the "View Contributors" tab (next to "Loan Status") and saw that primtime21 had already created an initial contribution for it, but it had not been approved yet. So I had to wait with my update until that initial contribution had been approved. | | | My one wish for the DVD Profiler online database: Ban or remove the disc-level profiles of TV season sets. I was thinking when you click on the View Contributors icon it brings up the window, but the View Contribution Notes link is missing on that window until the new profile is approved and released. |
