I hope this is in the right spot; I'm a little new to these forums, so my apologies if everything isn't quite in order.

I just opened up DVD Profiler tonight, and it seems like the entire collection was erased.  So, I went looking to open up the last backup I made, and that's gone too.  Everything was fine yesterday afternoon.  The only thing I had done between those times was install Azureus Vuze, which I haven't even used yet.  Anyone else have this problem?  I really, really hope I don't have to start all over again, as I had almost 1,000 titles loaded into my collection..... Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Yes, I tried opening the database, and the file is there (last backup dated 1/28/2008), but it comes up with nothing.  I can't imagine how it happened.  And for the record, I'm still running Windows XP Pro.  I'm not touching Vista with a 10 ft. pole. 

It's looking like the entire collection just erased itself, and I have to start  from scratch...ugh.  Thanks for the response, anywho.

Not opening it, did you try restore it?

Ah, my mistake.
I found my backup file, and it looks like I've got most of it restored.  That is, everything up through my last backup.  Thanks for that, this'll save me countless hours of restoring!

Glad you got it sorted out. I notice your online collection is empty. It would be a good idea to upload your collection, as that can serve as an emergency backup if your local copy(s) get corrupted.

Yeah, after I finish catching up, putting in the MST3K stuff I got in the last few days, my next step is to back it up online and on a USB drive.  That one little scare is all I need.  Thanks again!

Do you have Profiler open on both machines at the same time? If so, that may explain your problem. Profiler does not support multiple connections to the database.

I recently purchased a new laptop which runs Vista. I downloaded DVD Profiler without a problem and restored my database from the backup. Again, no problems. The program is running fine in Vista. I backup my database to an external hard drive in addition to the online database.
