| Posted: | | | | Assuming a season, 22 episodes on 6 discs (5*4+1*2) and some bonus features on the sixth disc. Is the runtime (as with movies) only the 22 episodes or is the bonus counting, too?
What happens if there's an entire disc only containing bonus? | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | We don't count Bonus Materials when computing Runtimes, so It should just be the combined runtimes of all the episodes. | | | Chris |

What happens if there's an entire disc only containing bonus? What does the box say...some of the box sets usually give a Combined Running Time i.e Star Trek: DVD Movies Collection (Films 1 to 10) Running Time Approx. 1101 mins. (Underside of case in Information Box) else as per cmaeditor. Steve |

What do we do when you have bonus materials or discs in any set relative to Runtime? We list the Runtime for the Feature film, right. Why would you include ANY runtime other than the total runtime of the Featured TV Series, in other words No Bonuses

| Posted: | | | | I agree with feature/episode runtime only, but, as ask in the original post:
>What happens if there's an entire disc only containing bonus?
For the box set total runtime, no problem, should be the features/episodes runtime totaled. But at child profile level, should an 'all bonus material' disc have a runtime of 0?

| Posted: | | | | Got it. Seems strange for an individual disc to have a runtime of 0, but for the overall box set it makes sense.

| Posted: | | | | I guess it is all how you look at it. Since a bonus only disc does not have a feature on it... it seems right to me that it gets no run time... no cast... no crew... usually no overview... just a basic profile with what is on the disc (features). but that is just me probably... as people has told me I look at things in a weird way anyway. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I always tot up the bonus features for extras-only discs when they have their own child profiles. Of course this excludes the likes of production notes and galleries but you see what I mean. And then that's as far as those totals will go, the parent profile will only tot up the runtimes of the episodes themselves. |

| Posted: | | | | Hmm, Nadja. I understand what you are saying and it actually sounds rational, except i fear users might start creating Profiles for Bonus Discs that we don't do yet. So i guess we would have to specify, for now, that such Bonus discs would have to be separately cased. In that case, it might not be a bad idea, to list the items with their Runtime in the Overview...or would it. Hmmmmmm. I am hoping one day we will be able to get into more detail on the contents of all bonus discs, but that is not up to me.

Skip Not that it has the slightest thing to do with the subject of the thread, but we've addressed this before Skip, over that whole 24 palaver; the way discs are packaged within a set (ANY set, not just TV seasons) does not affect how they are profiled, beyond filling in the case type and selecting the correct cover scans. For this, we look to content. At disc level in a TV set, the child representing each disc is essentially a main feature, and therefore a bonus disc of extras that applies to the season/set as a whole is no different than a bonus disc in a movie box set that applies to all of those movies. The rules clearly state " Individual profiles for each disc may be submitted if desired" and as we can see, there is no reason to invent an exception for extras-only discs, be it in favour of including them or not. |

I am sorry, but I think you are reaching here. The only time we can create a profile for a bonus disc is when it is part of a box set AND covers all the films in the set. A TV series set is NOT the same thing as a Movie Box Set. They have different rules and you can not take the rules from one and claim they apply to the other.
