| Posted: | | | | Found another problem:
I have 5 personal filters. I want to get only those DVDs, which have NOT the last two tags. If I do this on my own using the AND condition, everything is alright. But when I save this filter and use it the next time the profiler starts (not in the same session!) the AND condition is not selected... |

| Posted: | | | | Not a bug. If you wish to use the same filters always, use the "Save Filter Set" and the next time you wish to use the same filters click on Load Filter Set. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | Actually, this is a bug. Even if you save the filter it will not remember that you have selected AND rather than OR (at least I know this is true for the tags filter) |

| Posted: | | | | Ok...I think I know what klattenhoff's problem is. When he created his filter set, there must have been a filter criteria in one of the filterable items. Now, when he selects the filter set, it will filter not on the tags that he expects to see, but on whatever the filter criteria was when he first saved the filter set.
Here's an example:
I created a tag called monsters with child tags Vampires, Zombies, Werewolves, etc.
I then filtered my collection by typing vampires in the "Other" field to filter the overview for the word vampires. I then flagged all those DVDs that were vampire movies. I then edited the personal info section of the profile and checked the Vampire checkbox. I then unflagged all.
I then filtered my collection by typing Zombies in the "Other" field to filter the overview for the word Zombie. I then flagged all those DVDs that were Zombie movies. I then edited the personal info section of the profile and checked the Zombie checkbox. I then unflagged all.
I then filtered my collection by typing Werewolf in the "Other" field to filter the overview for the word Werewolf. I then flagged all those DVDs that were Werewolf movies. I then edited the personal info section of the profile and checked the Werewolfs checkbox. I then unflagged all.
Now here is the part where I messed up and what I believe is klattenhoff's problem as well:
I then filtered on Tags and selected Zombies and Vampires to view only those DVDs and then saved the filter set as zombies_vampires. I closed DVD Profiler and restarted it. I loaded the filter set zombies_vampires and instead of seeing just my Zombie and Vampire movies, I saw my Zombie and Vampire & Werewolf movies because prior to saving my filter set, the text "Werewolf" was still in the Other box and filtering on the overview for werewolf. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection | | | Last edited: by Bad Father |

| Posted: | | | | Of course I'll let klattenhoff confirm, but I think you're making this too complicated. Reading his post I think he's just indicating that AND/OR states are not saved as part of a filter. |

| Posted: | | | | While that could be happening, what he is referring to is a problem that has been brought up at least twice since I've been reading the forums (about a year now).
When you save a filter set, the state of the And/Or (which one is selected) is not saved (or it may not be reloading properly). So when you reload that filter set it will be set to OR (the default for tags) and not And. I forget (and can't check now) if it uses whatever is currently set or if it always changes it to Or.
So basically after you load a saved filter set, if that set includes tags you need to go to the tags filter page and switch the And/Or to And if your filter is supposed to be an AND filter.
Long story short, as Steve said, this is a bug. I wouldn't be surprised if Ken has already corrected it for 3.5 because its probably a simple fix.

| Posted: | | | | Perhaps I'm missing something...but when I filter on my Vampires & Zombies tags using AND then save the filter set then close and reopen DVDP and load the filter set for Vampires & Zombies, AND is selected when the set is loaded. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

Is AND selected on the tags page though? the AND/OR option is dependent on the filter page currently showing. So if your general tab is showing that will show AND but if you switch to the tags page it will probably show OR (unless it behaves differently for you than everyone else). The movies you see after loading the filter, do they all have both tags checked (the behavior for AND) or are you seeing movies that have either tag checked? -Agrare |

| Posted: | | | | Got it now . I checked 2 of 5 tags and selected AND which resulted in filtering only those DVDs that have both of these tags present in the profile: 3 titles. I then saved the filter set. After restarting DVDP I loaded the flagset and 0 DVDs were filtered. So...my appologies to all...it's A BUG!!! | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

So...my appologies to all...it's A BUG!!! I have observed the same problem, but let me add a refinement to the bug description. If you look at the saved filter file, you will notice that its is just XML. The AND/OR state is in fact correctly saved, but apparently not restored properly. Let me know if you get a different result. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. | | | Last edited: by mediadogg |
