| Posted: | | | | Since this is not really clear in the rules. Other than list names exactly as they are in the credits In the credits for Star Wars Ep. 1, It shows the Chris Sanders - Voice of Daultay Dofine. Now do we Credit this as
1. Chris Sanders - Voice of Daultay Dofine 2. Chirs Sanders - Daultay Dofine (Voice) with the check off Voice only | | | Last edited: by Darknite |

| Posted: | | | | Neither: it is #1 with the voice check box checked.
All the voice credits have a "Voice of" in front of them and should be submitted that way. Most are missing the "Voice of" and are incorrect as it stands. | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |

| Posted: | | | | We credit them exactly as they are in the credits with the voice box ticked. The use of the phrase "Voice of" does not negate the use of the check box. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. Indeed. It was unfortunate, however, that in the move from Intervocative to Invelos, Ken chose to automatically replace every word "Voice" with the then new "voice" tag, changing previous entries in the form of "Voice of Daultay Dofine" to the strangely truncated "of Daultay Dofine (voice)"... There are still many of those entries in the database. | | | Last edited: by T!M |

| Posted: | | | | I've never seen those T!M. As far as I understood ot, he changed (voice) to voice tag. Not the voice word without the parenthesis. I still see lot of '(voice' in the role names that weren't converted.
And Unicus is correct about the way we enter them. No disagreement here | | | The colour of her eyes, were the colour of insanity | | | Last edited: by reybr |

| Posted: | | | | I personally always thought this was pretty obvious. We have 1 rule that says... Quote: ...with names and roles listed exactly as they are in the credits and in exactly the same order credited. and then a rule that says... Quote: In addition to the above, the following rules should be followed: *For animated films or voice-only roles, use the "Voice" checkbox. So following the rules the answer you get is... Chris Sanders - Voice of Daultay Dofine (Voice)No where in the rules does it give any type of exception to change the role name or to not use the voice check box for voice only roles. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | The Darknite's original submission was to change: Quote: Chris Sanders as Vocie of Daultay Dofine (the spelling error was in the credit) to: Quote: Chris Sanders as Daultay Dofine (voice) which would have conformed to the other Voice of credits in the profile (they were uniformly incorrect) but not to the on screen credits. Darknite pretty quickly resubmitted last night correcting all the voice credits to match the on screen and have a voice tag. And he submitted Star Wars 2 & 3 with the same corrections for good measure. All three profiles will be improved now. | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |

| Posted: | | | | Here's an interesting twist on the voice credits. From Spacebabes and the Monsters: great leader Voice of Frieda DubaI entered it as Frieda Duba as Great Leader (voice)Not exactly as credited, but I couldn't very well put "Voice of Frieda Duba" as actor, could I? | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Not exactly as credited, but I couldn't very well put "Voice of Frieda Duba" as actor, could I? Of course you did, gunnar. After all you shouldn't enter the data as it is credited now...should you. Man,..... Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

| Posted: | | | | Ok, you lost me, Skip! Are you saying that I should enter "Voice of Frieda Duba" as actor? If so, how should I parse it? "Voice of Frieda//Duba", "Voice/of Frieda/Duba" or something else? | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

| Posted: | | | | I agree, I think you've dealt with the credit the best way you can Gunnar. Maybe you could have used "credited as" to show the "Voice of Freida Duba" bit, but I wouldn't have considered that necessary. |

And IMHO it's in line with this recent decision by Ken: another "oddball" credit type, but the principle is somewhat similar. There Ken opted against using the "credited as" field, but instead for entering the various pieces of data in the "logic" / "appropriate" fields, and that principle can/should be applied here as well. | | | Last edited: by T!M |
