| Posted: | | | | There is a user adjusting the run time with this argument: Corrected running time (official fan club credit are not part of the movie), corrected features (checked disc). | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. | Posted: | | | | The runtime for the us-american CE (NTSC) is
02:07:33 128 02:15:25 135 ------------------- 04:22:58 263 -------------------
The runtime for the german SEE (PAL) is
02:02:21 122 02:10:01 130 ------------------- 04:12:22 252 -------------------
I've measured them myself with DVD Decrypter, they were submitted and accepted.
As long as the endcredits roll, it's part of the movie. Period. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | The fanclub credits are part of the extended editions and are indeed part of the movie. Howard Shore even composed music to play along these credits. It is not something you select through the features menu, but it plays as an extension of the regular credits.
So, in my opinion, adjusting the runtime is incorrect. | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

I fully agree, and in general I think starting to discuss whether certain bits of credits are part of a film is a way that madness lies down and a huge area designed to cause problems. Just stick to runtime of the DVD stream so we can all agree. | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |

| Posted: | | | | Are the fan club credits in the same title? E.g. the Dolby logo most often is not in the same title as the main feature and therefore not part of the film. On the other hand the studio logos are most often in the title and part of the film. |

I always take the running time displayed by PowerDVD for the title with the main feature (or in this case add the 2 running times for the main feature titles of both discs). | | | Last edited: by RHo |

The Rules simply state that if there are TWO versions on we use the LONGEST, NOT a total, or the shortest but the Longest. Rho is free to do what he wishes locally, however this is the Contribution Forum and as such i read his post as outside the Rules, and one for LOCAL use ONLY.

| Posted: | | | | Skip, you might want to know that the main feature of the extended version of LoTR is stretched across 2 DVDs. So RHo's method is absolutly correct. | | | Deutsches DVD Profiler Forum: www.dvdprofiler-forum.de |
