Is there a way to generate a RSS or XML feed for the online collection?  I would like use Yahoo! Pipes to view my collection.  A SOAP interface to pull my online collection would be nice as well.

You can do an XML export already from the program.

And if you want a nice looking online database then have a look at phpdvdprofiler. See my link below for an example of what it looks like.

How much effort does it take to set up that? I used to use DVDoug's Companion which i liked a lot of its easy to use interface. But he hasnt updated it since DVDP 2.5

You need PHP and MySQL.

Then it's just a matter of creating the database via SQL script, uploading the images, the exported xml and starting the update process.

Have a look at http://dvdaholic.me.uk/forums/ which are the forums giving the files to download.
And have a look at http://www.johnd.org.au/installingphpdvdprofiler/index.htm which is a quick guide to what needs to be done.

The main thing is you need access to MySql and PHP on a website and then you just need to follow the instructions. I already had a website which I could access which included these applications but there are also free ones which you can sign up to.
