| Posted: | | | | i have a big issue, and i've tried searching the forums but the search keeps timing out with message "Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding."
anyways, my issue is that i'm trying to add to my collection, and i can't, i get a message that says
cannot create file C:\database path\pending\085391176572.doi
i've check permissions, i've retaken ownership just to make sure, i'm not sure whats going on |

Is your database under "Program Files"? | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | The *.doi file contains the data for a downloaded profile (*.dos being the corresponding image data). The "Pending" folder is used as temporary storage when adding profiles.
Since the error message reports a time out rather than an immediate failure, the path is most likely not on the local hard drive, but on a network drive or something similar. | | | Matthias |

| Posted: | | | | If I understood this correctly the "Timeout" issue was referring to the web search. A networkdrive named C: would be quite unusual in a private setup. So possibly a database repair can help (if only this one profile is affected) got to DVDProfiler menu "Tools -> Options -> Utilities -> Database Repair ..." Choose the complete repair.
Please come up again if this didn't help, or if more than one profile is affected. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | ok, i resolved the issue, i have a folder sync program that i use to keep things like my documents and whatnot synced up between multiple pc's, and i have it set to delete empty folders, so it would delete the temp folder right after profiler created it LOL. i feel like an idiot it took me so long to figure that out.
as for the timeout issue, that was for searching the forums
thanks for the quick responses |
