It's a list of DVDs that I have watched, but don't necessarily own, such as borrowed discs or rentals. This was a very handy feature on DVD Spot, and I note that DVD Crate also has a similar feature (assuming when they get up & running effectively). It's nice to know exactly which discs of a series or collection you've seen or rented so you don't accidentally rent the same disc again. It also helps quell arguments with others about who has seen what and when.
When I imported my list from DVDSpot into DVD profiler, it placed all my watched DVDs into the Ordered list, which obviously isn't exactly the correct place for them. The Collection List could really use a Watched Tab.
Since I migrated to DVD profiler, this is the one feature that I've been eagerly hoping to see in the last few updates, but so far, nothing.

I agree though, this could be a useful feature to have. | | | DVD Blu-Ray LastFM |

| Posted: | | | | The problem in my opinion: It's either connected to the owned list which means you can only have watched what you "own" or it has to be independet from the owned list which means the database must be able to contain the same DVD more than once.
Suggestion: As long as this isn't a feature, use a secondary database (File->Open Database) to handle you watched list. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | Huh? Where's the problem? Just leave the "watched but not in possession" items on your wishlist. If you marked them as watched (CTRL+W) all you have to do is switch to the "All" tab and filter for watched. Now you've got your overall watched list... | | | - Jan |

Still, I'd like to have a Watched list added so that I can see a list of only DVDs that I've watched. I thought about the other option put forth, using a second database for these, but this would break when syncing the list with my collection online (unless I'm mistaken). | Posted: | | | | The problem is, not too many people want or need that feature AND I showed that it is already available, even if a little more complicated (you could also use a watched tag instead btw). This together means that such a feature request is very very low on a priority list, if at all. If only 10% are interested in the feature it would mean that implementing it creates unnecessary clutter for 90% of the users, especially when we're talking about an extra tab. Considering that, it's very much possible Ken does not want to add this feature because it causes more trouble than it helps.
Having said that, there are (imho) better chances that we'll see custom extra tabs in the future. Even those are low on a priority list though as I think they require fundamental changes to the way the tab system works. | | | - Jan |

| Posted: | | | | The only way I would want it added is if it is optional so that unless you check a box for it in the options menu it wouldn't show up. It is something I would definitely never use... I personally couldn't even imagine storing the profiles (especially those cover images) on my computer for every movie I watch... whether I own it or not. | | | Pete |

Well, not quite what I want, but close. On DVDSpot, the Watched List would show all DVDs that have been watched, whether you owned them or not. In DVDProfiler, you have to constantly set the Watched filter every time the app is started, but then that filter affects all of the Collection List tabs, not just the tab that's open at the time. On DVDSpot, the viewing history of every disc was shown right there on the page, like this: Date With Custom 07-24-2006 <empty> Special Features [ EDIT ] [ DEL ] 07-24-2006 Jen Special Features [ EDIT ] [ DEL ] 07-20-2006 Jen Episode 6 [ EDIT ] [ DEL ] 07-19-2006 Jen Episode 4, Parts 1 & 2 [ EDIT ] [ DEL ] 07-18-2006 <empty> Episode 1, part 3 & Extended, Comedy Connections [ EDIT ] [ DEL ] 07-18-2006 Jen Episode 1 part 3, Eps 2 & 3 [ EDIT ] [ DEL ] 07-17-2006 Jen Episode 1, parts 1 & 2 [ EDIT ] [ DEL ] It wasn't buried like it is in DVDP. Even those are low on a priority list though as I think they require fundamental changes to the way the tab system works. Customizable tabs would probably be the ideal solution. As someone else pointed out, they have little use for a Watched tab. I have little use for an Ordered or Wishlist tab; DVDSpot had both (Owned, Watched, Ordered, Wishlist, and Loaned), and these two were the least used by me. I have wishlists on Amazon, and it was more of a hassle than anything to bother with the Ordered list, so I have little use for, or even a need to have space used by these tabs. The ability to customize the tabs here would be very welcome. Even more so if each tab would retain its own filter settings from session to session. And to go with that, a window to show the DVD's history would be a welcome addition (since these ARE already user selectable) He Who Is Currently Using The Notes To Store This Information From DVDSpot. |

| Posted: | | | | DVD's history? You can already view that...
Btw, if you just want Profiler to show last watched on start up you could probably write a command (for the startup txt file) that automatically sorts by watched, descending (this is possible) and switch to the ALL tab. | | | - Jan |
