Do you also use other ways to catalog your collection, other than DVD Profiler?

Personally, I also tried some other programs but I wasn't satisfied.  I think DVD Profiler is still no.1.
I am also trying the "My Movies" feature in IMDb to keep track of the *movies* (as opposite to DVDs) I own, but it's *not* a very powerful tool. For instance, there are no statistics and no reports; it's just a list.

I've tried a couple of others, but I've found that DVDP far outstrips them all.

I use the online collection at discshop.se to track my Swedish purchases (and some imports, mainly from the UK).

I also use IMDb's "My Movies" for voting purposes and to maintain a wish list for unreleased titles.

I used to use Excel before I discovered this - DVDProfiler is a hell of a lot easier!

I'm using DVDpedia because it's a native Mac program and I don't always want to launch a VM to just quickly find a DVD (moreover it comes with an iPhone companion).
The data is (as it comes from online databases) of lowest quality.

No.

At first I had only a few DVDs and didn't catalogue them at all. Then I started to use DVD Profiler 2.something.

I tried another program on my Mac but wasn't satisfied and discarded it.

Nope!
I started with MS Excel, continued with MS Access before I discovered the DVD Profiler. I'm happy with it! No need for me to use other programmes!

I use Google Docs spreadsheet to keep track of my HD purchases.  The advantage of Google Docs is that it's accessible everywhere I have an internet connection.  I often make purchases away from my home computer and it's convenient for me to put that information in the spreadsheet right there.  When the movies arrive, I update the spreadsheet and also put the information into DVD Profiler.
