Since it's an acronym it could be argued that the stars are just fancy periods.
I know it most likely wouldn't pass muster here, but rather would generate a lot of arguments. But if I owned the series I think that's how I'd do it in my local.

KM Except there's no star at the end! Enter what you see, period; and follow the Rules for titles with subtitles. J*A*G: Judge Advocate General | | | Hal | | | Last edited: by hal9g |

And original title
JAG
as seen on screen? That's what I'd do, yes. I'd also use "JAG: Judge Advocate General" as the sort title. Interestingly enough, someone has decided that the "star" is equal to a "dash" in the title "K*19: The Widowmaker". I think it should be done the same as this one. | | | Hal | | | Last edited: by hal9g |

J*A*G: Judge Advocate General But... I don't see asterisks, I see stars. An asterisk is a 6-pointed mark that is often called a star, but it is not the 5-pointed star that appears in the JAG title. In the case of M*A*S*H, that title is actually presented with what looks like asterisks to me, or at least it is a 6-pointed asterisk like character. I don't see anything in the rules for titles that tells us how to handle special characters that are not part of the normal keyboard. Has this been clarified somewhere else on this forum? |

JAG
as seen on screen? Slightly off-topic, but I'll mention it anyway: note that with original titles for TV-seasons, you do still need to keep the season indicator as part of the title. Else, those that choose to display their collection by original title (one of the basic display options) will end up with multiple profiles all named just "JAG" and nothing more, which is rather confusing. |
