| Posted: | | | | The other seasons in the database seem to retain only the text of the title, so I would put:
"MacGyver: The Complete Final Season"
and change "Final" for "7" in the sort title.
(The only way that makes sense to me to incorporate the number in the title would be: "MacGyver: 7: The Complete Final Season". It doesn't really make sense as a title any other way to me.) |

Yup, that's the problem. But they incorporate the season number into the text: | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | I understand. I had looked at how the titles were handled for the other sets in the Profiler database; they ignore the figure.
(Oh, I see. Some of the non US sets use the figure, but they invent "Season 6" where it does not read that way on the cover. So I wouldn't want to do it that way.)
If you treat the figure as part of the title, the only way I can see to read it is "MacGyver: 7: The Complete Final Season". Any other way is awkward in my opinion. |

Locally, I'd just use "The Complete Final Season" and leave it at that. The reasoning behind that is that on the previous cover, there's both "The Complete Sixth Season" and a "6", and we ignore the six without question. We simply feel it's already covered by the word "Sixth", and nobody starts looking for a way to incorporate the number as well. This time around, "7" isn't covered by the word "Seventh", but it is still covered by the textual description. Only this time, it's covered by the word "Final". That's a bit different, granted, but the principle still stands. If we didn't go looking for a way to incorporate the "6" before, why should we do that here? If the textual description was good enough for me then, it's good enough for me now as well. I would only use the "7" in the sort title, just like I used the "6" in sort title for the previous season. | | | Last edited: by T!M |

| Posted: | | | | Agree with Tim here. Just use the text and put 7 in the sort title. |

That's why I preferrred it without the number. See my first post. (I suggested the same solution you did.) | | | Last edited: by CalebAndCo |

| Posted: | | | | The rules give the answer. The only question is actual form. Ption 1 is not consistent with the Rules. I hate those kind of Season uses from Hollywood.

| Posted: | | | | My personal preference would be: MacGyver: The Complete Final Season Going by the rules, it has to be MacGyver: The Complete Final Season 7 or MacGyver: The Complete Final Season: 7 | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. Unfortunately, the same exact way...'MacGyver: The Complete Sixth Season 6' or 'MacGyver: The Complete Sixth Season: 6'. Does it look silly? Yes. Do I like it? No. Is that what the rules require? Does it look silly? Yes. Do I like it? No. Is that what the rules require? In my opinion, yes. I think this is one of the cases (seasons 1 to 6) where everybody agrees to apply common sense and "interprets" the rule and nobody forces a decision just to make it according to the rules. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online
