| Posted: | | | | What kind of credit do we give (if any) to a person credited with the following in an episodes credits?
'Main Title Music by'
Just Composer?
Or Theme By, even though it doesn't credit it as such. The Main Title Music of the TV Series is the Theme Music that plays in each and every episodes opening credits.
Also if we credit the Main Title Music by with Composer does that mean that if the person is also credited with a credit of Music by, then he gets credited twice as Composer? |

| Posted: | | | | I am not a great one to answer since I don't do crew credits... but I would say if at all... it would be Theme By. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | That would indeed seem to be the intended meaning of the credit, yes. However, this might be interpreted as entering the minefield of "functional equivalents"... |

'Main Title Music by' I'd say it depends on what the name under this line actually did. Was it the singer? Just the composer? | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | From what I can tell, this is used for the person who wrote the music that is played during the main title sequence. Because of that, I would go with 'Theme by'. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | Definitely "theme by" - IMHO, this is the prime example of where that new credit is meant to be used for. |
