| Posted: | | | | Hello, I just contributed some new covers for The Pink Panther Film Collection (UK), they were declined, because the covers belong to a rerelease. How can I get the rerelease with the different covers into the database, when the EAN is the same. I wanted to add child-profiles using the actual DVDs, but there was also another Pink Panther Collection in the database with different covers AND different EAN. Does anyone know, if it is possible to add a feature for variant-covers? Second problem: When I add a boxset, DVD-Profiler counts the boxset and the boxset-contents so if a boxset has three DVDs it counts the three DVDs and the boxset - makes 4! Therefor the amonut of my movie collection seems higher than it really is! Thanks and greetings, Jan |

"If a title is re-released with the same UPC, but different cover images do not contribute the new images. This includes cases where a DVD was initially released in a slipcase, which was later removed. As explained in the introduction you may use your personal images in your local database, but they will not show online."
Maybe someday but now, you should maintain the Cover you own locally but no further than that.

| Posted: | | | | The terminiology is misleading the program does not count DVDs ; it counts PROFILES. There is a variety of ways you can deal that have been discussed many time in the Forums.

(profile per EAN/UPC) But you can have your own scans locally and then lock them (right click on the profiles -> Lock -> Cover Images) Quote:

You can use the collection number for actual counting (set the collection number of the box set to "none" in the personalization section) | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

As long as it's legitimately released under the same number in a different country it can be added without problem. |

So far so good, now I have changed the locality of this movie (its part of an two-movie set), but the box the movie belongs to, has a different cover, so the UPC on the german boxcover does not match the UPC on the norwegian disc. (so again DECLINED) This is getting mor complicated than I hoped ;-) Jan |
