| Posted: | | | | Not sure if this is a programme bug, but as of late I've noticed several times that when I had a large box set profile with child and grandchild profiles in my Ordered list and I attempted to move it to Owned, the parent and child profiles would move just fine, but the grandchildren stayed in Ordered and did NOT move along. When I then proceeded to move them manually, they would be reassigned to the child profiles just fine.
Can anyone confirm this? | | | Last edited: by dee1959jay |

| Posted: | | | | You are absolutely correct. That is what happens today.
I typically remove the children from the parents before moving them from Wishlist or Ordered to Ordered or Owned and re-associate them after the move.. It's a bit of a pain, but typically there are lots more grandchildren than children. | | | Hal |

Should I consider adding a temporary menu item: Collection\Flagged\Move to Owned or Ordered ? (Of course it is already there, but you say there is a bug ...) It could recurse down from the parent to the grandchildren ... shouldn't be hard to add. Or should we just wait for the bug fix? (Hearing rumours of a new Beta, so waiting seems to be the thing to do ...) | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! I hope it's already on his "to be fixed" list because it's not the first time I've heard of this bug. A similar bug is that if you move a child from one collection to another (say Wishlist to Owned), and don't move the parent, it doesn't get removed from the parent. That has to be done manually. That doesn't seem right to me. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |

The scaffolding I've built up inside BulkEdit makes it very easy to snap in a simple operation like that ... I don't mind if it is temporary. | | | Thanks for your support. | Posted: | | | | pardon my ignorance but "grandchild"? I know parent and child, but how can you have a grandchild profile? I didn't know they could go that far down.
Boxed set of entire series with each season as the child? | | | CaptKiirk42 DVD Collection/ Also Klandersen at DVDAF DVDCrate Collection My Blog |

Boxed set of entire series with each season as the child? Once upon a time Ken extended the parent-child concept to open to endless inheritance. This way you can have series box-season box-disc Or virtual box sets like "Blu-ray", "DVD". | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

Boxed set of entire series with each season as the child? Exactly. Entire series (parent) => Seasons (children) => Discs (grandchildren). |

Exactly. Entire series (parent) => Seasons (children) => Discs (grandchildren). You can also get this in movie box sets. I have Classic Musicals from the Dream Factory in my wishlist. It has Broadway Melody of 1936 / Broadway Melody of 1938 in the box (the child), which is then broke down to grandchildren for each film. | | | If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. -- Thorin Oakenshield |

| Posted: | | | | I have a fake boxset setup called TV. Under that I have another fake profile called Babylon 5 Universe. Under that I have another fake profile called Babylon 5 (to keep Babylon 5 separate from Crusade). Under that I have a real boxset for Babylon 5: The Movie Collection. Under that I have profiles for each of the five TV movies from that set. So those profiles are great-great-grandchildren. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here.
