| Posted: | | | | DVD Collection Software Review I don't think this has been posted before. They tested several different DVD catalogue programs and DVDP was rated number one by them. It's good to know that it's recognised for its greatness!! Direct link to the DVDP review. Quote: Summary:
In our research of DVD Collection software no program was perfect, each had their quirks and uniqueness, but with regard to power and ease DVD Profiler is about as close to perfect as you’re going to get. Their user contributed database is extensive, the interface is intuitive and loan management is a cake walk.
Don’t let the words database and management get in the way of your dream to finally have a complete, comprehensive and organized listing of your movie collection. DVD Profiler will save you money and stress in the end.
That's a pretty good review overall. | | | Last edited: by Ardos |

| Posted: | | | | It was amusing how they ding-ed Profiler for not having VHS support. As many users have pointed out in these forums: (sarcastic voice) It's a DVD Proflier, not VHS Profiler! :-) | | | My one wish for the DVD Profiler online database: Ban or remove the disc-level profiles of TV season sets. It completely screws up/inflates the CLT. FACT: Imdb is WRONG 70% of the time! Misspelled cast, incomplete cast, wrong cast/crew roles. So for those who want DVD Profiler to be "as perfect as Imdb", good luck with that. Stop adding UNIT crew! They're invalid credits. Stop it! |

I am just trying to get another one removed. | | | Hans |

Also UMD's, games, video-CD's and even a number of "D-Theater" D-VHS-tapes. As requested before, it would be great if there was a more universal procedure on how to flag these for the screeners... |

Congrats to Ken and to all of us for having the best on-line database in the world. |

| Posted: | | | | It's a shame they didn't spend just a little more time to get some of their facts straight. For example, they correctly say you can't add VHS, Hard Drive & CD (on the big comparison chart), but say you also can't add custom. That of course is completely wrong. You can add whatever you like with manual profiles, including those other formats. Just about every other feature they list as missing can be done with either plug-ins or HTML windows (CSV Export, links to trailers, import from other programs, etc.). Still, we came out on top, so I guess there's not much to complain about. Congratulations Ken! | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. | Posted: | | | | If you are looking for value for money DVD Profiler is the best and only choice. It's only 29,95 for a lifetime of use unlike for example Movie Collector (#2 and same price). |

| Posted: | | | | Nice review - many thanks, Forget! And fully agree with Mathijs, BTW.
VHS support aside, they find the main DVDP weakness to be the lack of data import and export facilities. Too bad they missed the possibility to use plug-ins for that, even though they did notice the existence of plug-ins as such. Especially import facilities (or lack thereof) could entice (or deter) current users of other programmes to give DVDP a try. | | | Last edited: by dee1959jay |

| Posted: | | | | With the VHS gripe, I am willing to bet that Ken will promise to include it as soon as it is as popular as DVD is. As soon as it makes its come back and dethrones DVD, Hell I write the VHS/DVD Profiler myself. LOL |
