| Posted: | | | | I do .. I usually Photoshop a Master scan for the Inital box set and leave out all inside Information blank - (runtime./year / cast crew etc etc etc .. ) then I make that title no upc or Disc Id . I Just place a 'physical number' under DVD/ change upc to i.e. 000001 / 000002 / .......000026 etc .. I then make sure that this title is set for Exclusions ( all three Hides ticked) ,, I find this groups my special titles better than using Tags etc .. ( in most cases) My lists (so far) includes Walt Disney / Stephen King / Alfred Hitchcock / Stanley Kubrick/ High Defination DVD's ( both Blue Ray and HDDVD) / My granddaughters 'special list' of Her own movies) / Television Nostalgia ( prior to 1990) / Criterion Collection / Documentaries / Television Special Events ( such as Roots or Cosmos etc ....... many more but you get the drift .. ... if so-- What are your Box set Titles for Individual Titles .. ?? | Posted: | | | | I've done this for all TV series (which were bought as individual seasons), All Alfred Hitchcock TV & Films, Fox Film Noir Collection, Fox Studio Classics Collection, Fox War Classics Collection, Harry Potter, James Bond, All Star Trek, All Star Wars, All Stargate. 59 manual profiles for this purpose alone. | | | Hal | | | Last edited: by hal9g |

| Posted: | | | | I've created manual box sets for some of my anime series, the ones where I've bought the discs individually. If I have a box for it, it gets that contributable box. If I don't have a box for the series it gets a manual box.
On the opposite side I've also made manual profiles for box sets where the discs contain more than one movie on a single side, so that the individual movies have individual profiles. | | | If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. -- Thorin Oakenshield |

| Posted: | | | | I just use tags. If I have a film series that I want listed together (e.g. James Bond or Sherlock Holmes) I just use the sort title for that.

| Posted: | | | | At first I said no because I keep my collection almost all of my DVDs alphabetized.
But, after the letter Z I keep any and all DVDs that contain more than one movie irregardless of how they appear in DVDP.
Edit: I still keep some multiple film DVDs alphabetized such as Harry Potter box sets. | | | Last edited: by Kathy |

Also, I include in my Profiler database VHS tapes, audio DVDs, audio books (digital, cassette and CD), video games (digital, DVD and CD) and 'enhanced' CDs with video tracks on them, as well as films and TV I've bought digitally. So I'm an anarchist, deal with it. Just be thankful I don't include most of my records and CDs etc in it too; don't think I haven't been tempted... |

| Posted: | | | | In earlier years I used to group my TV seasons into one virtual box set per show, usually with a cast cover from VirtualCovers but that site doesn't seem to exist anymore. And at some point I simply discarded the concept again and listed the seasons individually again (unless I actually bought a Complete Series set). | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | voted No I never saw the appeal of 'virtual' box-sets, for any "they somehow belong together"-stuff I use tags. I rather mess around with the covers of actual box-sets if I get bored. cya, Mithi | | | Mithi's little XSLT tinkering - the power of XML --- DVD-Profiler Mini-Wiki |

| Posted: | | | | Nope. If it's purchased as a boxed set then I keep it a boxed set in my listing, but that's as far as I go.
Not that I see it as a cardinal sin to create virtual boxed sets, but to me doing it would seem. . . inaccurate, I suppose.
The only instance where I might consider it is if a set had been released at some time a boxed set, but then nothing would be virtual or created extra. I would download (or create if needed) the existing boxed set and replace the existing profiles with my own. | | | If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.

| Posted: | | | | Hmm, never thought about it. If I've bought a complete series and it's already in a box set, I leave it that way. Same for other box sets, but I don't generally create any. I do use tags to group things, though, instead. The physical box sets are alphabetized within my collection by the box set name. | | | Lori |

| Posted: | | | | I do something similar for college lecture courses (Business, Arts and Music, History, Literature, Philosophy, Religion, Science, Social Science), Arizona local, James Bond, Dark Shadows.
Most of the following have no release date. Some of the college lecture courses did not have UPCs and some are on tape so i had to do something. On my old 486 I had my own db I wrote with a version for LPs, CDs, LDs and books. I found the books especially mysteries I collected would come out with new covers and I wasn't sure whether I had it or not. | | | We don't need stinkin' IMDB's errors, we make our own. | Posted: | | | | I don't boxset virtually, but on my physical shelf I put sequels after the first movie, even if they are out of alphabetical order.
For example, it would go something like:
Night of the Comet Night of the Living Dead Dawn of the Dead Day of the Dead Nightmare on Elm Street
Or
Man on the Moon Manhunter Red Dragon Silence of the Lambs Hannibal Masters of Horror
That sort of thing. | | | Reviewer, HorrorTalk.com

| Posted: | | | | I do it for my TV series but not for my movies. Due to boxset issues on the iOS app and having the parent & children in different categories, I decided to remove the boxsets for movies and just have only the movie profiles. |
