Is it possible to add new categories to the lists?  For example I'd like to add the category "color" in the general info box near "run time" to show if the movie is in color, b&w or both.
Thanks in advance

You can't add a category right there, but you can set up Tags to your heart's content.

The Notes and Other Features fields are also available to add your own information. Am I correct on Other Features - would that need to be locked? (Thanks dee1959jay)

AFAIK, the disadvantage of using Notes or Other Features is that you can't make selections based on those. Using Tags you can.

What do you mean? There are filters for those fields. I still agree though that tags are the best way to do this.

Ah yes, in the "Other" field in the "General" tab - now I've found them too.
Sorry to cause confusion, and thank you Kulju for pointing me in the right direction.

Tags can also be easily be used for conditional output when making your own reports.

I am also new also.  I found the benefit of tags while building my first report.

In fact I uploaded the report I made "Movie List - Indented Child Profiles (v 1.0)".  An example of nested panels to create multiple condition decisions.

So tags can be very useful since you can display based on their value.  You could simply create two tags, one for color and one for B&W

Since a movie will be either B7W or Colour I just use one tag for b&W then if I want to filter the colour movies do "Not B&W" (tick = filter B&W, blank = filter NOT B&W, green blob = no filter).

Also not you can add custom Genres if you think B&W would be more happy there.
It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong
