I am a long-time user of DVD Profiler for Windows (since 2001!) and am interested in accessing my database through Apple mobile devices.  I can't seem to find a simple explanation of the architecture and capabilities -- I'm hoping a kind soul will answer my questions!

1.  What are the required components to view and edit my existing DP database using a mobile device?

My assumptions:
- DP for Windows                  (creates and updates my DP database)
- DP for Mobile                      (establishes an interface path for syncing to mobile devices)
- DP for iOS                          (DP human interface on Apple mobile devices)

If my assumptions are correct, am I also correct in assuming that users purchasing *just* the DP for iOS without DP for Mobile will only be able to manage a local database created on their Apple mobile device?

2.  Are multiple mobile devices supported?
I have an iPad, an iPhone, and an iPod Touch -- will all three have the ability to edit and synce to my PC's DP database?

3. If I want to run DP on multiple Apple devices on a single iTunes account, do I need to purchase one copy of the application or three?

Thanks in advance for your help!

1)Tthe iOS version is separate due to the way the apple app store is run. Invelos can not give out new codes the same way they would for a desktop or mobile version. In addition, it is important to note that DP for Mobile is basically and end of life product at this point. It does not run on newer windows mobile devices, only on Windows Mobile 6 Professional or Classic,  Windows Mobile 5 Professional or Classic, or Windows Mobile 2003, Windows Mobile 2003 SE. These are much older devices. The iOS version does not need the mobile version... if all you are using is apple devices then you just need the iOS app. You will gain the full functionality it is capable of at that point... however please note that it's not as capable as the desktop version in it's current iteration and most likely would not be adequate to replace the desktop version for most users. The apple device will sync with the pc version, however changes are limited at this time.

2) Multiple Devices are supported, you can sync your collection to as many devices as you like, my household is currently syncing 4 devices to one database without issue. The only caveat is that while DP will allow you to sync more then one device at a time, in my experience this is a bad a idea and can lead to instability or data corruption on the iOS device, best to take it slow at least until the next update.

3) Just like any other app in the app store, as long as your multiple devices are registered and synced to the same apple ID you can use them on up to 5 devices. This holds true for DP as well as every other app in the app store. So one purchase for you.

Thanks for the quick reply, Jon.  I'm glad I didn't buy the DP Mobile version!

Great news as well about multiple-device support.  That will work well for me...

I spent some time this morning with the iPad, loading DP's app and trying to connect to my PC.  Unfortunately, I've not yet been able to connect, even with my firewall disabled.  Drat.
