Hallo,

this problem was discussed in the meantime in the new-user- forum with mediadogg. Hence, I should open a new Thread in this forum. Special greaating to the users Rander, nicovoet, ROBAGD for create this plugin .

My problem:
the DVD profiler runs on my Win 8 64bit system. for the PTouch QL-500 print i have download the  plugin 2.0 from the website from Jim Richards (Mediadogg). I use a german and now registered version of DVD profiler.

I use the PTouch Editor 4.3 and 5.0 (64bit-Versiopn). For this plugin i have install the SDK Client software from brother too.

I have create a label like the instruction from mediadoggs instruction-page. In the meantime mediadogg was so kiendly and send me a label to test this one (also without success).

Every time when i start a print with the PTouch-button i get following message after i select the label

I think the plugin crash with some components from Visual Studio or with Windows 8?

I would really be glad about a tip.

Just for some clarification here:

- I am the developer of the PTouch plugin and have been working with Sthack by PM
- I told him that several other users who might be able to help, because I developed the plugin for them
- I suggested posting a pleas for help in the plugins forum, PTouch thread

The OP decided to make his own thread - that's OK, but the aforementioned users might be subscribed to the official thread.

I have tested the OP's scenario as best possible, was able to reproduce the problem and subsequently resolved it by installing the latest drivers from the Brother website. Apparently Sthack was not successful using that solution.

Hi mediadogg,

last night i get the update form Microsoft for the netframework 4.5. after this update the plugin works correct

sometimes it is better to wait some nights ;)

a little fix in the plugin is nessesary. in the media-typ there is a string-error. A Blu-Ray-Disk will print as "BlueRay".

i hope you can eleminate the "e" in BlueRay. For my work i have edit the dll with a hexeditor. It runs well for me. But for other user it may be better when you recompile the dll from the original template.
