| Posted: | | | | Sincerest apologies if this has already been mentioned but it was not a subject...
It would be extremely useful to have this feature to be able to add DVDs to our collections without having to use the computer and then syncing to the phone, especially if you are in a store and want to add something to your wishlist.

| Posted: | | | | This feature already exists. From the Collections screen click on the + icon in the upper right corner of the screen. From there you can add a new title by barcode, title, etc. If for some reason the + icon doesn't show up in that location then click on the menu button on your device (usually labeled as menu or ^) to display additional options. Some devices will move some of the icons to that location if sufficient space isn't available. Here's a screenshot as an example: | | | Last edited: by rdodolak |

I assume he wants the scan barcode in the search function because he wants to use it to search in his collection not Add to his collection. Personally, I'd just like to have the whole add/update by scanning bar code actually work. I've had about a 0.5% success rate and gave up on the feature. |

You can't get it to scan the barcode? I think it depends on the camera. I have yet to find a barcode that my Nexus 4 could not read, even in bad light, coloured or small barcode. Only problem I've seen is if you enter something that's not in the DB you end up with junk in the entry when transferred to PC. | | | Tom. |

I have a whole thread in the troubleshooting section on this topic. It's the transfer. You either add or edit depending on what you are doing, run the sync. 98% NADA, no change to the database. The 1-2% (and that is generous) that work, get wiped out the next time you run a sync because the phone db is wiped out. It doesn't matter custom categories or not. Same result. |

| Posted: | | | | Problem sounds like an incomplete Online database to me. Not sure where/how DVDP-A is storing and/or refreshing it.
When scanning the barcode: Does your device have an Internet connection?
I'm asking because in stores you usually have a whole lot of metal around you and this might block the connection thus preventing DVDP-A from getting the required data. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

How do you get an "incomplete online database'? You send everything or you don't, correct? And BTW, I don't use the online database for my syncs. At least not that I know of. I can do internet searches using blu-ray.com's app from inside a big box retailed no problem, usually on one bar, maybe two. (that would be on 3G) Quote:

Yes. WiFi or 3G at at home. Quote:

Most of my usage so far was trying to save time (NOT!) entering new titles. I have used the scanner to see if I owned a title and that worked fine, that is the whole purpose of the batabase. |
