| Posted: | | | | I sent an pre-purchase email (as Invelos, in 2014, has no phone contact ) - with a promise of a "prompt response". Three days later - nothing. Is this an anomaly or the usual deal? It doesn't bode well for after-purchase tech help, but ... are they having weather issues or ...? Anyone with experience, please advise .,. Memphis P.S. my question had to do with being able to use a bar code scanner with the program. |

As far as bar code scanners go they work fine.
I use a WASP bar code scanner. The current version of the one I use is:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA24G15S6923
Many users use CueCat barcode scanner I believe which can be much cheaper then what I use.
The only thing you need to do is make sure it is programed to send the right format barcode to the keyboard buffer. In the past I used mine for books/comics so had it set to read the UPC extensions for issue numbers (Common on periodicals, rare on DVDs/BDs) which caused some issues at first. |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks for the response. Still nothing from Invelos, and I sent a second email!?! I looked at that WASP > bad case of sticker shock. That Cat one was much cheaper, but a bit … cute? So, I started a new thread listing 3 scanners I'm currently considering ($25-$40). I know nothing about scanners, and I'm not sure if only newbies come to this forum, but maybe I'll get some help. Thanks again, pardner. |
