| Posted: | | | | Hi I just installed this software for the first time today, and I like it, however I'm having some problems, if anyone knowledgeable could help me out.
1) This software was last updated in 2012? Can I expect any more updates? I'm able to run it fine with my Win 7 computer, but hopefully this company isn't failing somehow, because I really like their software.
2) Some of my movies aren't cataloguing right: A) The DVD set (4 Film Favorites: Romance Collection) shown here http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002U4UYZ0/ref=s9_psimh_gw_p74_d0_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=115AEGQY2D81QYBXY8RH&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1688200382&pf_rd_i=507846 with UPC 883929108800 isn't recognized in the system, so I had to manually upload a case image for it and manually/separately add the 4 movies since I couldn't figure out how to make this film set be recognized as a set in the program, and thus the 4 films listed as child listings under it (I noticed we can't click-drag films from the main list, also); B) This set (listed in the software as Operation Condor - (other films)) http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Miramax-Multi-Feature-Jackie-Chan-Blu-ray/29635/ does not offer child listings at all, and I'd like to have these 4 films added that way; C) This set (6 High-Powered Action Pack: Miramax Multi-Feature in the program) http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Miramax-Multi-Feature-High-Powered-Action-Pack-Blu-ray/37203/ has the films in it only listed with 2 child listings under it, (Equilibrium / The Lookout / Supercop) and (Hidden Assassin / The Yards / No Code of Conduct) and I'd like them as 6 child listings, one for each of the 6; D) I don't know why it lists sets as one in the Total DVDs count (for example it counts 4 Film Favorites: Ocean's Collection as one, in addition to the 4 child listings for the films under it, instead of just listing the 4 child listings in the count, which would be the correct way) and if this could be fixed, it'd be great.
Any advice about which what, and how if it's possible, of these issues could be fixed would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

Any advice about which what, and how if it's possible, of these issues could be fixed would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! 1) I too love the software. No one knows if there will be any more software updates. The developer considers sharing any such information top secret. 2) The database is completely user built. If it isn't i the database it's because no one has contributed it yet. Please feel free to contribute any missing items. A) I bet most of those are in te system already. Most profiles are based on the UPC of the movie, but in this case the movies are children, which use the Disc IDs from the discs as the UPC. In this case I assume at least a few of the children with the same disc IDs are already created as children for a previous boxset. Unfortunately there can only be one... so if they already exist you should not overwrite the information for the online database. B) Again, you can create the children, using the Disc IDs for the UPCs. You may not have to start from scratch, as the data may have been released before independently. C) again, if the data isn't there you can fix it and submit it. Hope this helps, contributing can be kind of overwhelming. But there are a lot of great community members, so feel free to post if you have any questions. | | | HDTV: 52" Toshiba Regza 52XV545U AVR: Onkyo TR-707 Speakers: Paradigm Monitor 7 v6, CC-190 & Atom Monitors Subwoofer: Definitive Technology ProSub 800 BD/DVD: Oppo BDP-93 (Region Free) HD PVR: Motorola DXC3400 500GB w/ 1TB Expander BD/DVD/Game: 250GB PS3 Slim DVD/Game: 250GB XBox 360 Elite Special Edition (Black) Game: Wii Remote: Logitech Harmony One w/ PS3 Adapter WHS: Acer H341 Windows Home Server |

We know what a new version is available when he has a new beta ready to try out. That may be next month or next year or never. However, do keep in mind that there was a new Android version released recently (beta I think). And an update for iOS devices is supposed to be getting reviewed by Apple right now. So while it might seem like nothing is going on, Ken is busy. I'd be shocked if we never see another version of the desktop, but that's just my opinion with nothing solid to back that up. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here.
