My boss just had a question I couldn't answer, but would actually like to know myself.

Is there a place to search for a movie that will tell you where you can watch?  So you search for a title and it will tell you if it's available on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc.

I'm shocked there aren't more answers.  Is this really not a thing?

Oh well.  I've passed along the answer.  Thanks Charlie.

This one is pretty good:

https://www.ovguide.com/

It tracks both movies and TV series.

I see that I can search for shows and TV and gather lots of information about them.  But what I'm not seeing is where I can go watch it online.

I want something that will tell me which online service(s) has the content available for streaming.  I don't want to have to search Netflix, then Amazon Prime, then Hulu, then...  I want to just search for something and have it tell me where I can go to view it.

For example.  The other night I wanted to watch season1 of 24 for some reason.  My son has my season 1 discs, so I needed to find it online.  It would have been great to search for "24" and have it tell me it's available on Amazon Prime instead of manually searching all the various places until I got lucky.

AFAIK some smart TV's have apps doing just that. Samsung perhaps? What I don't know is whether these apps have web-based counterparts.

I'm confused, that is exactly what canistream.it does...

For example, here is the page for 24, which I got by searching for 24 in TV shows:

http://www.canistream.it/tv/series/76290/24

You click on the availability button and it shows you where you can watch stream it, purchase a digital copy or even watch on cable.  Also has it set up to send you a notification when it becomes available on certain platform.

For 24 it says it's only available to purchase from Vudu & Google Play for $1.99 per episode.

I'm confused, too. Are you not seeing the same thing as I am?

Ovguide organizes by series, not by season, but all of the sites listed on the page are hosting the series. (In this case: Amazon Prime, Vudu, Google Play, and Xbox Video.)

I realize that.  I wasn't replying to you.

No, that isn't what I saw.  So the site either isn't working right from my work computer (fair chance) or the site is so convoluted that it wasn't apparent how to actually navigate and use the site.  Either way, I couldn't find anything that useful.  I just tried again today with the same results.  It's either broken here or the results are buried deep-down somewhere not obvious.

Maybe it is your browser choice *shrug*
